Gen2Tek have a strong, active pipeline across BRPD, Building Safety Advisory, Technical Design Management, and CDM across London and the Home Counties and we are looking for someone to take ownership of some of the Building Regulation Principal Designer duties as we grow. The work is varied and substantive: high-rise residential, mixed-use, commercial refurbishments, and projects where the Building Safety Act 2022 is not a checkbox but a core deliverable.
You will be carrying out BRPD duties under Part 2A of the Building Regulations, working within BSI PAS 8671 and BS8670-1:2024 competence frameworks, with genuine exposure to Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs). This is not a back-seat role. You will be embedded in live projects from early design stages, managing design compliance, engaging duty holders, and shaping how we deliver BRPD at a consultancy that is growing quickly.
We are looking for someone who fits one of these profiles:
- Building Control Surveyor registered or registrable as Class 3 under the Building Safety Regulator
- RIBA or ARB registered architect with solid design management experience and demonstrable BRPD competency
- Design Manager with a strong architectural background who has been operating in this space since the BSA came into force
You will need to know your way around the Approved Documents and the Building Safety Act, understand how to manage designers and design sub-contractors through a compliance lens, and be comfortable owning the duty holder responsibilities that come with the role.
If this sounds like the kind of work you want to be doing, get in touch.
