Working from our Southampton office, you will be assisting Gen II in carrying out its responsibilities under the depositary requirements of the Alternative Investment Fund Management Directive (AIFMD), namely cash flow monitoring, record keeping and verification of assets and general oversight.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure daily cash flow monitoring of client bank accounts is undertaken
- Maintain asset registers and undertake procedures to verify the ownership of those assets
- Review of drawdowns and distributions, ensuring the expected procedures have been followed
- Quarterly review of management account information, valuations and reconciliations
- Review the reconciliations of monthly cash activity
- Correspond with clients and intermediaries
- Ensure funds are compliant with key underlying fund documentation and that any issues are identified, logged and resolved in a timely manner
- Prepare and present periodic client reports
- Assist with on-site visits to investment managers and fund administrators
- Organising own client portfolio, prioritising workload and dealing with matters in a timely manner
- Work effectively within the team but show appropriate levels of initiative
- Assist with the onboarding of new clients and funds
- Supervise and assist in training and development of more junior staff
The ideal background for this role:
- Experience of working in Depositary, Fund Administration or Fund Accounting of private equity or real estate funds
- Experience of working with a portfolio of clients
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Experience of managing a team
- Sound academic background (preferably Finance/Accounting related)
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft office, including Excel and Word
Role Location/Hybrid Schedule:
This role is based in our Southampton office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
