Sandside Lodge School are looking to recruit two Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentices to join their team for a September start!
Sandside Lodge School is a special school catering for students aged between four and nineteen who have an Education Health and Care Plan.
All our students have severe learning difficulties and additional needs such as Autism, physical difficulties, hearing or vision impaired and communication differences.
We cater for all needs with a highly personalised approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- To support the child in his/her learning under the direction of class teacher.
- To work closely with the SENDCO.
- To contribute to planning, monitoring and assessing pupils in partnership with the class teacher.
- To liaise with the class teacher with reference to progress and development.
- To liaise with parents.
- To liaise with outside agencies.
- To work with the child on a 1-1, alongside other children, in small groups and in the class group, to ensure he/she does not become over dependent.
- To be involved in setting targets for IEPs, including contributing to development and implementation of IEPs/EHCs.
- To be conversant with the procedure for safeguarding children.
- Select, prepare and clear away classroom materials and learning areas ensuring they are available for use, including developing and presenting displays.
- To attend relevant training, meetings, discussions in relation to the role.
