Eaglesfield Paddle Primary Academy are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team for an immediate start! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing and who would enjoy working as part of a supportive school team.
The Role
- Under the supervision of teachers and senior staff, you will support teaching, learning and the care of pupils across the school.
- You will work with individuals and small groups of pupils, helping to support their educational, social, emotional and physical development.
- You will play an important role in creating an inclusive, safe and positive learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering planned learning activities and programmes, adapting activities where appropriate to meet individual pupils' needs.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to support their learning, progress and development.
- Assist teachers with monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress and behaviour.
- Provide appropriate feedback and encouragement to pupils regarding their attainment and progress.
- Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials to support lessons and activities.
- Support pupils' social, emotional and physical wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence and inclusion throughout the school.
- Supervise and support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, including educational visits and other school activities.
- Prepare and maintain learning areas and classroom displays.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and other professionals to meet pupils' individual needs.
- Communicate appropriately with staff, parents/carers and external agencies where required.
- Follow all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection.
- Encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour and develop their independence.
- Assist with the organisation and maintenance of classroom resources and equipment.
