Tweddle Engineering are looking to recruit a Level 3 Engineering Design Technician Apprentice to join their team this September! Tweddle Engineering is a well-established engineering company with over 35 years’ experience, working with customers across the UK and internationally. From our site in Kirkbride, Wigton, Cumbria, we design, manufacture, and install bespoke plant and equipment. We’re proud of our strong teamwork, friendly culture, and long-term customer relationships — and we’re keen to welcome the next generation into our engineering team.
We’re looking for a Design Engineer Apprentice to join our engineering department. This is a great opportunity for a school leaver or someone at the start of their career who wants to gain:
- A recognised engineering qualification
- Real hands-on design and engineering experience
- Training, mentoring, and long-term career progression
You’ll learn how engineering designs move from concept through to manufacture in a real working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing CAD drawings and engineering designs
- Supporting engineers with design and production work
- Preparing technical drawings and documentation
- Working with manufacturing teams to support build and installation
- Learning engineering standards, design controls and processes
Skills & Personal Qualities
- Enthusiastic and keen to learn
- Interested in engineering, design or CAD
- Comfortable using computers
- Organised, reliable and motivated
- Willing to work towards a Design/Engineering qualification
Working hours
Monday-Thursday 7.30am-4.45pm
