About The Role
As a Principal Content Designer, you will shape how language, design, and technology come together to deliver intuitive, human-centered digital experiences. You’ll define the content vision and strategy for one of our product pillars across Gen’s global brands, including Norton and Avast, ensuring cohesive, customer-focused, and data-informed experiences at every touchpoint. This is both a strategic and hands‑on role. You’ll collaborate across Product Design, Product Management, Engineering, Research, and Marketing to shape product narratives, strengthen information architecture, and build the overall experience. As part of our Content Design team, you’ll scale content standards, frameworks, and systems that support clarity and trust. You’ll also help define how AI-powered experiences are designed and adopted internally and externally, setting standards that raise the bar for usability, consistency, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Content Design vision and strategy within a product pillar, driving customer-centric and data-informed experiences across mobile, desktop, and web platforms.
- Design, test, and deliver core experience elements, including information architecture, interaction language, product naming, navigation, frameworks, and in-product flows.
- Apply systems thinking and design principles to ensure language and interaction patterns scale across experiences, platforms, and global markets.
- Shape and evangelize best practices for AI-powered tools and experiences, ensuring they are understandable, trustworthy, and adopted effectively across teams.
- Partner closely with UX Research to validate decisions, measure impact, and continuously evolve content and experience strategy.
- Collaborate across disciplines, including Product Design, Product Management, Engineering, Research, and Marketing, to deliver cohesive, user-centered outcomes.
- Partner with internationalization and localization teams to deliver globally relevant experiences.
- Mentor other Content Designers, fostering craft excellence, innovation, and a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Oversee multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, driving clarity of focus and delivering impact on time.
Experience
- 8+ years in Content Design and UX design, with a proven track record shaping end-to-end digital experiences across complex product ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI into the design workflow to accelerate content creation, improve effectiveness, and define new interaction patterns.
- Deep experience designing for and contributing to systems of reusable, scalable content and interaction patterns across global products and platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity with minimal direction, set vision, and drive alignment across teams and initiatives.
- Experience mentoring and elevating the craft of other designers.
- Strong background working in global, matrixed organizations, with knowledge of internationalization and localization best practices.
Skills
- Exceptional narrative and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex, technical concepts into clear, compelling, human-centered language.
- Comfortable influencing information architecture, interaction design, and end-to-end experience strategy.
- Strong command of UX and product design principles, with hands-on experience in tools such as Figma, Jira, and Confluence.
- Ability to evaluate and adopt emerging AI tools and practices while ensuring usability, trust, and clarity.
- Skilled at influencing and partnering with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
Personal Attributes
