The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial management activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic insights to support business growth. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in financial services and accounting software to contribute to organisational success. The role involves mentoring junior staff and collaborating across departments to optimise financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of management accounts, budgets, and forecasts with precision and timeliness.
- Analyse financial data using various accounting software.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organisational policies.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide detailed reports highlighting variances and trends.
- Support financial management activities including cash flow forecasting, cost analysis, and profitability assessments.
- Mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal controls related to financial reporting.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and assist in implementing audit recommendations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices in financial management within the financial services sector.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
- Excellent IT skills, including financial software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of financial tools and processes.
- Full driving licence.
- Experience using Sage 200 Accounts is desirable.
