Permanent P/T Bookkeeper required for local charitable organisation based in Lisburn. Job Purpose: The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day financial administration. My client are looking for a Bookkeeper who is extremely organised, has a can-do approach, and enjoys being busy. In this post, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the financial systems and the day to day financial administrative support to the CEO. Duties will include: Manage and maintain the QuickBooks online accounting system and processing of day-to-day financial information, including purchases, payments, and nominal ledger transactions. (training will be given on QuickBooks) To supervise the preparation of all bank lodgments' ensuring that all income is banked, entered on QuickBooks, receipted and all cash received is counted in accordance with the specified procedure. Assist the accountant with reconciling all banking transactions. Supervise and verify project expenses for payment through e-banking. Review suppliers records and prepare supplier and other payments. Oversee the Head Office petty cash system and reconcile. Assisting in preparing financial reports for funders alongside CEO and project leads. Assist with recording all donations and prepare quarterly gift aid claim. Assist in the production of Monthly Management Accounts, Board Reports and Year End Audit process as required Liaise with CEO & other departments in the collection of monthly payroll information such as time sheets and sickness absence. Receive the monthly payroll including all reports and organise payment to staff through business e-banking. Receive monthly p32 reports from accountant and organise payment to HMRC of PAYE and National Insurance Input monthly salary journals into QuickBooks. Assist accountant in ensuring all statutory reporting (including monthly and year end reports to HMRC) is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with official requirements Dealing with queries from suppliers and colleagues. Undertake any other reasonable duties and specific projects as assigned by management to contribute to the overall aims of the charity. Essential Criteria: Experience of QuickBooks or similar accounting package for general bookkeeping, including producing accounts and management reports. Minimum of 3 years experience within a busy finance department. Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically in Excel Strong organisational skills, excellent planning and time management with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work as part of a team Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, communication both written and verbal skills. Hours of Work: 20 – 25 hrs per week: Monday – Friday OR 3 full days Salary: £34,000 pro rata.
