Gentech are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Food Safety Officer to join their expanding food manufacturing team in Newtownards for an immediate start.
Key Duties:
- Maintain and review HACCP plans and food safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with UK/NI food legislation and customer standards
- Carry out routine food safety, hygiene and quality inspections
- Monitor CCPs, product quality, packaging and label accuracy
- Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions
- Support allergen management, traceability and product recall systems
- Prepare for internal, customer and regulatory audits
- Deliver food safety and hygiene training to production staff
- Maintain accurate records including HACCP, temperature, cleaning and training documentation
- Promote GMP standards and food safety culture across the business
Essential Criteria:
- Level 3/4 Food Safety qualification
- HACCP qualification
- Experience within food manufacturing
- Knowledge of hygiene and allergen controls
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Competent with Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Internal Audit qualification
- BRCGS experience
- Meat processing industry experience
