Gentech Recruitment are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our client based in Newtownabbey, logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising transportation schedules, ensuring efficient supply chain operations, and maintaining excellent communication with clients and internal departments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong management, driving, and organisational skills to contribute to the smooth running of our logistics services.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule and optimise daily routes across Northern Ireland & Ireland.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers and internal teams.
  • Monitor job progress, ensuring service levels and compliance are maintained.
  • Support drivers with pre-briefs and debriefs.
  • Handle live operational challenges and keep things moving.
  • Assist with KPI reporting and performance tracking.

Ideal Person:

  • Previous experience in Transport Planning or Fleet Coordination.
  • Good knowledge of Northern Ireland & Ireland geography.
  • Understanding of Tachograph Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Calm under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • CPC qualification is an advantage but not essential.

This role requires a proactive individual capable of managing complex logistical challenges while maintaining high standards of organisation and communication. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring our supply chain operates efficiently and reliably.
