Permanent Quality Assistant required for locally homegrown business based in Belfast.

Role Purpose: The Quality Assistant will provide administrative and technical support to the Technical department within a busy food production environment. The role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting food safety and quality systems, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with company and customer standards.

Duties will include:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Technical department.
  • Assist in maintaining food safety and quality management systems.
  • Complete and update technical documentation, records, and specifications.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and site inspections.
  • Assist with traceability exercises and product checks.
  • Monitor and file production and quality records accurately.
  • Support investigations relating to non-conformances and customer complaints.
  • Help ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Liaise with production teams regarding quality-related matters.
  • Any other duties required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within a food manufacturing or production environment, ideally within a Technical or Quality department.
  • Experience working within a Technical or Quality department.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, or food safety standards would be advantageous.

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm & Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm

Salary & Benefits: £29,000 - £30,000 per annum. Paid breaks. Lunch provided daily. Permanent, full-time position.
