Gentech Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading UK manufacturer to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer. As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a vital role in keeping production running efficiently while helping to improve the reliability and performance of highly automated manufacturing equipment. You'll be trusted to diagnose faults, identify long-term engineering solutions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that make a real impact across the business. Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability. Responding quickly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise production downtime. Diagnosing and repairing faults across automated manufacturing equipment. Working with single and three-phase electrical systems, motors, drives, inverters, relays and PLC-controlled machinery. Supporting robotic cells, CNC machinery, paint lines and automated production systems. Reading and interpreting electrical drawings to assist with fault diagnosis. Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Supporting continuous improvement projects to increase equipment performance and efficiency. Identifying recurring faults and implementing permanent engineering solutions. Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and housekeeping. Working collaboratively with production teams, contractors and external service engineers when required. What We're Looking For We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in their work and wants to continue developing their technical skills. Essential Qualified Mechanical Engineer. Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment. Strong electrical fault-finding ability. Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement. Desirable Experience with PLC-controlled machinery. Fabrication experience. Previous experience within an automated manufacturing environment. Shift Pattern This position operates on a rotating three-shift pattern: Week 1 Monday to Thursday: 5:30am 2:00pm Friday: 5:30am 12:00pm Week 2 Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm 10:30pm Friday: 12:00pm 6:30pm Week 3 Sunday to Wednesday: 11:00pm 5:30am Thursday night through to Friday: 5:30am finish Call Gentech Recruitment and speak with Kevin for a confidential discussion.
