The Role
This is a hands-on opportunity for a passionate catering professional who takes pride in preparing high quality, home cooked meals while leading and supporting a dedicated kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional catering service.
- Prepare fresh, nutritious, home cooked meals tailored to residents' individual needs.
- Plan and deliver rotating four week menus in consultation with residents, families, and management.
- Cater for allergies, cultural requirements, and specialist diets, including texture modified meals.
- Manage kitchen stock control, ordering, deliveries, and stock rotation procedures.
- Work effectively within the agreed catering budget.
- Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards in line with HACCP and company procedures.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Support and supervise kitchen staff through training and performance management.
- Continually seek feedback to enhance the dining experience and overall service quality.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years experience working as a Chef or Cook.
- Relevant Chef qualification.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Knowledge of nutrition for older people.
- Understanding of food safety, HACCP, and health & safety regulations.
- Previous experience managing kitchen teams and stock control.
- Ability to prepare meals for special dietary and texture-modified requirements.
