We are working with a well-established local business in Newry who are looking to appoint a Finance Analyst to join their finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, Excel, reconciliations and financial data. The role is more analysis-focused than admin-heavy and would suit someone who is confident working with large data sets, identifying discrepancies and providing accurate information to support commercial and operational decisions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Reporting into the finance team, you'll be responsible for supporting the accurate reconciliation and analysis of financial data across the business, including:
  • Reconciling earnings, accruals and receipts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies across multiple data sources
  • Preparing accurate documentation, reporting and analysis
  • Reviewing performance, trends and variances
  • Maintaining and validating financial data across internal systems
  • Supporting process improvements, controls and better system usage
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to support commercial and operational decision-making
  • Ensuring strong data integrity and accuracy across all reporting

What we're looking for:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Confident working with large data sets
  • Strong reconciliation experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident communicator who can work with internal stakeholders
  • Proactive, positive and willing to develop

Desirable:

  • Experience with accruals, reconciliations and journals
  • ERP system experience
  • Rebate, stock, inventory or commercial finance experience
  • Background in finance analysis, assistant accounting or management accounts support
