About the Role

Gentech Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with our client based in Newry, who are expanding their team and are seeking an experienced Events and Banqueting Manager.

Job Purpose

A hands-on role focused on planning, organising, and delivering weddings and banqueting events to the highest standard. You will manage each event from initial enquiry through to the big day, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for every couple.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage wedding and event enquiries, bookings, and venue showarounds
  • Meet with couples to plan and coordinate every aspect of their special day
  • Organise event timelines, room layouts, and operational details
  • Liaise closely with kitchen, bar, and banqueting teams to ensure smooth delivery
  • Lead and oversee weddings and events on the day
  • Act as the main point of contact for couples, guests, and suppliers
  • Maintain exceptional service standards across all events
  • Supervise, motivate, and support banqueting staff
  • Provide Duty Manager support when required

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in wedding, events, or banqueting management
  • Strong background within hospitality or hotel operations
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
  • High attention to detail and customer-focused approach
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends as required
