The Role
As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in the creation and delivery of high-quality culinary offerings that delight our guests. You will work in a dynamic and collaborative kitchen environment, assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes to the highest standards. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills and work in a prestigious resort setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the established recipes, standards, and techniques, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
- Oversee a designated section in the kitchen, ensuring all ingredients are ready for service, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Conduct regular checks on the freshness and quality of ingredients, and take proactive measures to minimize wastage.
- Work closely with the sous chefs and head chef to contribute creative ideas, suggest improvements, and assist in menu development.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times.
- Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
- Assist in monitoring and managing inventory, as well as placing orders for ingredients and supplies as necessary.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or a similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
- Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
