Gentech Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with our client in Kilkeel, who is expanding their team and is seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to join their busy food manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day Quality Control function within the production facility.
  • Carry out quality inspections and ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
  • Monitor production processes to identify quality concerns and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Work closely with production teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure all product labelling and packaging complies with company and legal requirements.
  • Complete and review all quality control documentation, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
  • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and support the implementation of preventative measures.
  • Conduct routine factory floor inspections to ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Hygiene standards.
  • Communicate quality performance, issues, and recommendations to Production Managers and senior management.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Lead by example, promoting a strong culture of quality, food safety, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a Quality Control Supervisor, Quality Assurance Supervisor, or senior QC role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety legislation, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience leading or mentoring teams in a production environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Level 2 Food Safety qualification (or higher) is desirable.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work confidently on the factory floor.
