Permanent Quality Assistant required for locally homegrown business based in Belfast.
Role Purpose: The Quality Assistant will provide administrative and technical support to the Technical department within a busy food production environment. The role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting food safety and quality systems, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with company and customer standards.
Duties will include:
- Provide general administrative support to the Technical department.
- Assist in maintaining food safety and quality management systems.
- Complete and update technical documentation, records, and specifications.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and site inspections.
- Assist with traceability exercises and product checks.
- Monitor and file production and quality records accurately.
- Support investigations relating to non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Help ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Liaise with production teams regarding quality-related matters.
- Any other duties required.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within a food manufacturing or production environment, ideally within a Technical or Quality department.
- Experience working within a Technical or Quality department.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, or food safety standards would be advantageous.
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm & Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm
Salary & Benefits: £29,000 - £30,000 per annum. Paid breaks. Lunch provided daily. Permanent, full-time position.
