HGV Trailer Mechanic / Welder Ballymena Salary Negotiable (DOE) Monday to Friday | 8:00am 6:00pm Alternate Saturdays | 8:00am 1:00pm Permanent, Full-Time Gen Tech Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Trailer Mechanic / Welder on behalf of a well-established transport and logistics company based in Ballymena.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy in-house workshop maintaining a modern fleet of HGV tractor units and trailers.
You'll play a key role in ensuring vehicles remain safe, roadworthy and fully compliant through planned servicing, maintenance and repairs.
Key Responsibilities Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV trucks and trailers.
Complete scheduled safety inspections and identify defects.
Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual testing.
Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
Attend vehicle breakdowns when required.
Complete job cards, inspection reports and maintenance records accurately.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
Work to planned maintenance schedules and operational deadlines.
Follow all Health & Safety procedures.
Work closely with colleagues to maximise workshop efficiency.
Essential Requirements Industry-recognised mechanical qualificationor at least 2 years' experience in an HGV mechanic role.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Welding experience is desirable.
HGV licence preferred but not essential.
Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
Flexible approach to working in a fast-paced workshop.
