Gentech Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with our client based in Ballymena, who are currently recruiting an Estimator to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of tender/enquiry review pack to help inform bid/no bid decisions.
  • Ability to read & review schematics & designs prior to completing any take off.
  • Complete mechanical take offs from schematics & 3-D designs and collate into material & labour costs.
  • Liaise with commercial team to analyse labour requirements for each project and pull together associated costs for review.
  • Obtain & review specialist supplier & sub-contractors quotes.
  • To attend site meetings alongside design engineers & contracts managers as required both pre & post contract award.
  • Prepare handover pack & attend internal post award meetings for successful projects to discuss and review breakdown of estimate with delivery team.
  • Quantity take-off, BOQ preparation and unit rate buildups.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by management.

Essential

  • Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction related degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and engineering information.
  • Effective project management skills and the ability to exceed customer expectations.
  • Experience in achieving/exceeding business objectives.
  • Strong programme management experience in managing customer programmes from tender stage to delivery.

Desirable Criteria

  • 3-5 years experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in the design, manufacture and use of precast concrete products in civil/structural applications.
  • Current full driving licence.
