We are currently recruiting an experienced Area Sales Manager for our client, a well-established producer of high-quality concrete products. This is a client-facing role involving a mix of account management, new business development and customer relationship management. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the company’s full product range, developing long-term customer relationships and growing sales across Armagh.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new and existing business by positively promoting the company’s full range of concrete products and aggregates.
- Proactively manage and develop relationships with customers to expand the customer base and increase brand awareness.
- Develop strategic relationships with key customers, decision-makers and industry contacts.
- Manage key customer accounts and maintain strong ongoing business relationships.
- Understand customer requirements and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provide accurate and timely cost calculations and quotations to customers.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, delivery requirements and product specifications.
- Close sales opportunities and support repeat business through strong post-sale service.
- Deal with and resolve customer complaints in conjunction with relevant internal departments.
- Assist with budgets, sales strategy, planning and forecasting when required.
- Support marketing activity to promote the company’s product range.
- Attend production scheduling, sales and marketing meetings as required.
- Prepare and deliver accurate reports in a timely manner.
- Support account and credit management in cooperation with the Financial Director.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 2 years solid experience in a sales role within a related industry.
- Experience dealing with merchants, builders providers, contractors, self-builders, agricultural users or similar customer groups.
- Strong customer-facing experience with the ability to build and maintain positive business relationships.
- Commercially focused with the ability to identify opportunities and close sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to prepare quotations, manage customer requirements and follow up sales opportunities.
- Good knowledge of key contacts and players within the building/construction industry.
Desirable Criteria
- Technical sales experience across building materials, quarry products, aggregates, concrete products or similar.
- Experience selling into builders merchants, construction companies, agricultural customers or end users.
- Previous experience managing a sales territory.
- Experience supporting budgets, forecasting, reporting or marketing activity.
