We currently offer an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial Lines Facultative Underwriting Specialist in our London Office. The role would suit a forward-thinking team player with experience in Financial Lines Underwriting. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in collaborative teams with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, thriving in an environment of client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- The development and growth of a profitable book of Financial Lines facultative business for cedents located in the UK and Ireland on a single risk and/or “bundled” basis.
- The marketing of the Cas Fac product on a direct (non-broker) basis to new and existing cedent clients.
- The underwriting, pricing, structuring and negotiating facultative individual risk or bundled reinsurance schemes, programs or delegated authority arrangements in Financial Lines products and the wider Cas Fac product offering.
- To act as a central resource for Financial Lines technical underwriting for the London branch and other branches within the International Cas Fac network.
Qualifications & Experience
- A proven track record of building, growing and profitably underwriting a sustainable Financial Lines portfolio.
- A product specialization in Professional Indemnity or Medical Malpractice.
- Knowledge and experience in other Financial Lines classes such as commercial D&O and/or Financial Institutions products favourable but not essential.
- Superior technical underwriting background.
- Commercial and customer focused mindset.
- Established network of relationships within the London market.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Skill as teacher, mentor and technical underwriting advisor to less experienced underwriters.
- High degree of energy / tenacity and a motivation to develop a deeper understanding of a broad range of liability products.
- Experience in strategy and business planning to support department goals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- University Degree favourable but not essential.
- ACII qualification favourable but not essential.
