Role

The Practice Lead is responsible for driving the strategic growth, performance, and operational excellence of their practice area. This senior leadership role blends team management, client service, business development, and creative thinking. The ideal candidate is a commercially minded leader with deep sector expertise, a passion for impactful storytelling, and a proven ability to lead high‐performing teams. Only candidates with experience in a PR agency will be considered.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and lead the vision and growth strategy for the practice area
  • Act as a senior advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel on communications, media, crisis management, and reputation issues
  • Represent the practice on the agency's leadership team and contribute to overall business planning and development

Client & Campaign Management

  • Oversee delivery of high‐quality campaigns across clients within the practice
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted partner
  • Lead strategic planning, messaging development, media relations, and content strategies

Team Management

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of PR professionals to ensure consistent performance and growth
  • Foster a collaborative, high‐performance team culture
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the practice area
  • Lead RFP responses, pitches, and presentations
  • Grow existing accounts through cross‐sell and upsell opportunities

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee project budgets, resourcing, and profitability
  • Ensure best‐in‐class service delivery, client satisfaction, and process efficiency
  • Collaborate with finance and HR to support commercial and people strategies

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in public relations, communications, or a related field—preferably in an agency environment
  • Proven experience leading campaigns for clients within the relevant sector (e.g., technology, healthcare, consumer, corporate)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Track record of successful business development and client retention
  • Media‐savvy, creative, and commercially minded
