The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Within this role we would require individuals to have experience in preparing Audited Financial Statements under IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and be capable of examining financial transactions, identifying any potential risks involved and evaluating financial records accurately. The accountant would report to their direct line manager and be responsible for assisting and mentoring junior members of their team/ division. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Record journal entries related to fund transactions and associated fund structures.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, investments and other account balances.
  • Maintenance of general ledgers.
  • Assist in preparation of financial statements (quarterly or annual), investor reports and other financial reporting deliverables.
  • Assist in preparation of Fund NAV packs and working papers.
  • Coordinate with auditors during year-end audits; provide supporting documentation and respond to audit queries.
  • Assist in processing capital calls and distributions to investors of the fund structure.
  • Assist in responding to investor queries.
  • Assist in relevant fee computations (e.g. management fees, carried interest, etc.).
  • Operate within an ISAE 3402 controls environment.
  • Liaising with external contacts to obtain and provide required information.
  • Assisting with and contributing to ad hoc projects as required.

The ideal background for this role:

  • Actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA or ACA).
  • 1-2 years accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using FIS Private Capital Suite (Investran) is preferable but not required.

Role Location/Hybrid Schedule:

This role is based in our Southampton office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
