Join to apply for the Data Protection Specialist role at Gen II Fund Services. This is an exciting opportunity to work on privacy and data protection related matters of the established entity in the UK and also be involved in tasks and projects associated with the Gen II Global Data Protection Office (U.S., Canada, Europe). The role reports to the Global Data Protection Officer. You will have the chance to collaborate actively with different functions within the company and you will also have training opportunities to further grow in your role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintain and update the Record of Processing activities for the Gen II entities globally, while monitoring personal data flows.
- Get involved in client and vendor contractual clauses for data protection and international data transfers as well as related regulatory updates.
- Contribute to the drafting of templates, data protection addenda, privacy statements, consent forms, policies and procedures as well as other related documents for data protection governance and accountability.
- Perform Legitimate Interest Assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments and Transfer Impact Assessments.
- Assist with the privacy by design due diligence exercise for all new projects or IT tools.
- Keep up to date with privacy developments around the world.
- Perform any other tasks entrusted to you by the Global Data Protection Officer.
The ideal background for this role:
- Experience of 4+ years’ in privacy and data protection with legal background.
- Sound knowledge of privacy and data protection regulations such as the GDPR, CCPA, UK GDPR etc. Any other privacy law will be considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including contributing to and being part of a strong team spirit.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Role Location/Hybrid Schedule:
This role is based in our Southampton office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
