What you'll do
- Lead and manage geotechnical investigation projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Conduct detailed site assessments, including soil sampling, testing, and analysis to evaluate ground conditions and inform design decisions.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports that clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and design parameters to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers, to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs.
- Provide expert advice on ground improvement techniques, foundation design, and slope stability analysis to optimize project outcomes.
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance on best practices in geotechnical engineering and project execution.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure that Gemtec remains at the forefront of geotechnical engineering.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations regarding geotechnical practices.
- Conduct fieldwork and site visits to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with geotechnical design specifications.
- Utilize advanced software tools for geotechnical modeling and analysis, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of project deliverables.

Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong focus on site investigations and foundation design.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in New Brunswick or eligibility for registration is essential.
- Proficient in geotechnical software applications, such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed engineering decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
