What you'll do

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather project requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and performance metrics, adjusting plans as necessary to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and foster collaboration among team members.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing project status, challenges, and next steps.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices throughout the planning and execution phases.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all planning activities, including changes and approvals, to support project transparency and accountability.
  • Utilize project management software and tools to streamline planning processes and enhance team communication.
  • Engage with external vendors and contractors to coordinate project logistics and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to continuously improve planning methodologies and practices.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior planners and team members, fostering a culture of learning and development within the organization.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project planning or a similar role, preferably within the engineering or construction sectors.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing time efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and industry standards relevant to project planning and execution.

Nice to have

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is a plus.
  • Experience with environmental assessments and sustainability practices in project planning.
  • Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and its application in planning processes.
  • Previous experience in stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes.
