Overview
Gemporia began in 2004 and we are a British live television and online jewellery retailer sourcing gemstones across the globe. Since the end of 2017, we are now very proud to be an employee-owned company and we are constantly seeking to grow our successful team.
As our Social Media Assistant, you’ll be supporting our brand identity and community on social, working to create, post, and manage content that stops people mid-scroll. You’ll work closely with our Social Media and Content teams to support in the production and management of content across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest and TikTok (feed and shop). It’s a fast-paced entry-level role with lots of room to experiment, learn, and grow your skills in a busy marketing function in a prestige jewellery, homeware and beauty business.
About the Role
- Content Creation: You will help support the Content Lead, Social Media Manager and the rest of our social team to create engaging, on-brand content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and more). If you’ve got ideas for Reels, Stories, or TikTok trends, we want to hear them!
- TikTok Lives: You’ll be comfortable going live on our jewellery, home and beauty channels and selling to our audience in a creative, confident and brand-appropriate way.
- Community Management: You’ll interact with our followers, respond to comments and DMs, and keep the conversation going. You’ll be part of the first line of communication with our customers, making them feel valued and seen.
- Social Listening and Trendspotting: Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms. You’ll keep us fresh and ahead of the game, suggesting new ways for Gemporia to stand out.
- Content Scheduling and Posting: Assist in planning, scheduling, and posting content across platforms, ensuring consistency in tone and quality.
- Analytics and Reporting: You’ll get involved with tracking post performance and analyzing metrics to understand what our audience loves (and what they don’t). You’ll use this data to help us shape future content strategies, and will be involved in presenting weekly results in our trade meetings.
- Departmental Support: You’ll be starting your career in social in a busy, dynamic marketing and digital team and you’ll be up for getting stuck into everything going on, supporting the wider team and offering up ideas and opinions.
About You
- Social Media Superfan: You’re a digital native who’s active on all the major platforms and knows the ins and outs of social.
- Creative, Confident and Engaging: You have a knack for storytelling and know how to make content look beautiful, whether it’s a story, reel, or static post. You will have an eye for photography or design, be confident in front of the camera and know what works for an audience.
- Strong Communicator: Whether it’s a DM reply, a cheeky caption or collaborating with colleagues in the office, you know how to connect with people through words.
- Organized and Detail-Oriented: You can juggle multiple projects without dropping the ball, working with a busy team.
- Open to Learn: You’ll be chomping at the bit to get stuck into a successful social media presence and all that comes with it!
Experience and Skills required
- A willingness to learn, a passion for social and a positive attitude are what we are looking for! However, a strong personal social presence is advantageous, as is some exposure to brand-side social media management.
- Communication skills and creative flair are essential.
