Gemporia began in 2004 and we are a British live television and online jewellery retailer sourcing gemstones across the globe. Since the end of 2017, we are now very proud to be an employee-owned company and we are constantly seeking to grow our successful team.

As a Gem Collector Presenter, you are the face and driving force of the show. Broadcasting live to a dedicated audience of gemstone enthusiasts and collectors, you will engage, educate and entertain viewers while delivering commercial success through authentic storytelling, expertise and passion. Unlike traditional presenting roles, Gem Collector presenters self-produce their own shows. You are responsible for the full on-air experience, including product flow, graphics, pace, and audience interaction. You are both the talent and the producer shaping the show's success in real time.

Gem Collector is part of the Gemporia Partnership, a family of channels that share a passion for genuine gemstones, transparency and education. Our goal is to make gemstone collecting accessible, exciting and informative for everyone.

PRINCIPAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Present live and pre-recorded content for the Gem Collector channel, engaging viewers and driving sales through clear and confident communication.
  • Self-produce shows, plan, prepare and execute every on-air element including product flow, graphics, pricing and viewer interaction.
  • Demonstrate strong product knowledge and credibility across gemstones, gemology and collecting.
  • Adapt dynamically to live conditions, responding to graphics, product availability and sales trends in real time.
  • Build and maintain a loyal viewer community through personality, consistency and authenticity.
  • Collaborate with production, graphics, and buying teams to plan and review show performance.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial flair and initiative in delivering on-air success and developing new approaches to improve performance.
  • Represent the Gemporia Partnerships values of education, integrity and passion for gemstones.
  • Ensure compliance with broadcasting standards and always uphold the reputation of the Gem Collector brand.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in live television presenting, ideally within a shopping or entertainment environment.
  • Proven ability to self-manage and make editorial and commercial decisions on-air.
  • Excellent communication skills with a natural ability to engage and build trust with audiences.
  • Knowledge of gemstones or a strong interest and willingness to learn.
  • Commercial awareness with experience driving results through live presentation.
  • Calm and adaptable under pressure, able to work effectively in a fast-paced live environment.
  • Highly organised and self-reliant, while also collaborative within a wider creative team.

You will be working a 7 day fortnight shift pattern which includes weekends and be working 4 hours live presenting with 3 hours preparation beforehand.

Our studios are based in Redditch, Worcestershire, B98 9HF - you must be able to comfortably commute to our location.
