Gemporia began in 2004 and we are a British live television and online jewellery retailer sourcing gemstones across the globe. We are looking for an assistant to support the Buying and Product Development Team with administrative duties.
The successful candidate needs to possess strong communication and time management skills, in addition to an attention for detail and a flexible approach. We are a craft business so an interest in jewellery making or crafting would be beneficial but not essential. We can offer career progression into buying, product development and merchandising.
As a Buyer you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Managing the buying process for your categories, including product development & range selection, maintaining the critical path, monitoring and managing product inventory to identify opportunities to reduce current gemstones with high stock holding.
- Reviewing sales performance to understand key sales, profit and margin drivers.
- Communicating with suppliers to negotiate best pricing to achieve target margins and deliver commercial & competitive product ranges.
- Working closely with CRTPL and their Merchandising team to ensure orders are processed accurately and products are delivered on time.
- Driving strong relationships with internal teams to deliver category objectives.
- Developing a thorough working knowledge of the in-house system and ensuring accurate data entry.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join a fast-paced team; candidates should have a proven track record of experience within a buying environment. Jewellery experience would be advantageous but not compulsory. A commercial & creative mindset with a passion for product and an understanding of the retail buying function are key.
Our studios/offices are based in Redditch, Worcestershire, B98 9HF; you must be able to commute comfortably to this location. Working Monday to Friday 37.
