About the Role
Geminor is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Managing Director to lead our operations in the UK. The Managing Director is the overall leader of Geminor UK operations, holding full commercial and operational responsibility and ensuring that the national business delivers profitable and sustainable growth, operates with high quality and efficiency, complies with all regulatory requirements, and maintains strong customer and partner relationships.
The Managing Director sets the strategy and direction, manages performance, develops the organisation, and ensures that local activities support and strengthen the Group's overall value chain. To succeed in this role, you will balance commercial drive with operational discipline, long-term strategy with daily execution, and local autonomy with Group collaboration.
You will manage an experienced team operating at the intersection of market opportunity, customer needs, regulatory requirements, and operational capability — translating these factors into sustainable business outcomes. The role works closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, QHSE, HR, and other Group functions to ensure coordinated planning and execution. Strong financial results and competitive market positions are secured through structured budgeting, KPI follow-up, customer development, operational oversight, and risk management.
We are looking for an accomplished senior leader who combines strong commercial drive with operational credibility and has the judgement to make sound decisions in a complex and changing environment.
You will ideally bring:
- Proven senior leadership experience in a Managing Director, Country Manager, General Manager, or comparable role, with responsibility for a country, business unit, or significant P&L.
- A strong track record of delivering profitable, sustainable growth, including budgeting, forecasting, margin management, and KPI-driven performance follow-up.
- Experience leading commercial and operational teams within a regulated, industrial, logistics, or asset-intensive environment, with a solid understanding of QHSE and compliance requirements.
- A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience.
- Strong people leadership skills, with experience building and developing high-performing teams and organisations.
- Strong personal drive, with the ability to enable, sustain and motivate high performance across the team over time
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across a matrixed, international group structure.
- Commercial acumen combined with strong operational discipline and sound, structured decision-making.
- Fluent written and spoken English; full UK working rights.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally within Europe as required.
Experience within the waste management, logistics, sustainability or circular economy sector is considered a plus.
