DepartmentBackground:
ThePersonalInjuryandClinicalNegligenceDepartmentactsonbehalfofindividualswhohavesufferedinjury,illness,orlossasaresultofaccidents,medicalnegligence,andotherincidentswherecompensationmayberecoverable.Thedepartmentisrecognisedforitsclient-focusedapproach,providingcompassionatesupportwhilepursuingthebestpossibleoutcomesforclientsthroughouttheclaimsprocess.
Theteamhandlesabroadrangeofcomplexandsensitivematters,includingmedicalnegligenceclaims,surgicalerrors,delayedorincorrectdiagnoses,birthinjuryclaims,roadtrafficaccidents,workplaceaccidents,publicliabilityclaims,seriousinjurycases,andfatalaccidentclaims.Workingcloselywithclients,medicalexperts,andotherprofessionals,thedepartmentiscommittedtodeliveringoutstandinglegalrepresentationandachievingsuccessfulresults.
Dutiesandresponsibilities:
- ReportdirectlytotheDepartmentDirector.
- AssistwithavariedcaseloadofPersonalInjuryandClinicalNegligencematters.
- Attendclients,takeinstructions,andassistwithcasepreparation.
- Draftcorrespondence,witnessstatements,andotherlegaldocuments.
- Prepareandorganiseevidenceandsupportingdocumentation.
- Liaisewithclients,experts,counsel,insurers,andthirdparties.
- Attendconferencesandcourtwhererequired.
- Maintainaccuratetimerecordingandfilemanagementprocedures.
- Ensurecompliancewithdepartmentalandregulatoryrequirements.
- Deliverexcellentclientcarewithaprofessionalandempatheticapproach.
Experienceandqualifications:
- Astrongacademicbackground,includingaLawdegreeorequivalent.
- PreviousexperienceinPersonalInjuryand/orClinicalNegligencewouldbebeneficial,alongwithaninterestintheseareasoflaw.
- UnderstandingofCPR,litigationprocedures,andrelevantpre-actionprotocols.
- Excellentclientcare,communication,andinterpersonalskills.
- Strongorganisationalandanalyticalabilities.
- Abilitytoworkindependentlyandaspartofateam.
- ExcellentITskills,includingMicrosoftOfficeandcasemanagementsystems.
