Responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied caseload of criminal matters, including Legal Aid Agency (LAA) funded and privately funded work.
- Preparing legal documentation, witness statements, case summaries, defence statements, and trial bundles.
- Reviewing, analysing, and processing evidence including CCTV, body-worn video, forensic reports, and digital material.
- Preparing and submitting Legal Aid applications and ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements.
- Ensuring full compliance with SRA standards, regulatory requirements, departmental procedures, and quality standards.
- Ensuring compliance with file management.
Requirements include:
- Significant experience working within Criminal Defence Law.
- Strong knowledge of criminal procedure, criminal evidence, and the criminal justice system.
- Excellent IT skills - familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills.
