Role: Data Claims Paralegal

About the Role:

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the New Client Diary and case set-up/onboarding as well as assistant casework support to the other lawyers in the department. You will be involved with speaking/communicating with new clients and, as part of that role, will be expected to obtain all relevant evidence from them ahead of case opening.

The successful candidate will preferably have prior experience with Data Claims work or at least an interest in data protection, privacy rights as well as unlawful processing/disclosure/retention/misuse of personal data.

Main Responsibilities of the Role:

• Reporting directly to the Departmental Director
• Communicating/liaising with new and existing clients by taking initial instructions and obtaining evidence in support of their claims.
• Creating files and preparing all necessary documentation for client onboarding.
• Assisting with casework support from other lawyers in the department.
• Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with the firm's quality and regulatory standards.
• Managing time recording and file administration effectively
• Supporting departmental business development and marketing initiatives where required
• Undertaking any other reasonable duties as directed by Management

Key Skills Required:

• Minimum one-year of Caseworker Paralegal experience within a law firm/litigation environment
• Experience with Data Claims work is preferable
• Interest in dealing with claims involving the UK GDPR 2018, Data Protection Act 2018, privacy rights and misuse of private information is highly desirable
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
• Strong analytical and drafting skills
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong administration and file management skills
• Experience handling client enquiries, maintaining accurate records and preparing/managing documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
• Experience using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications
