Would you like to play a fundamental part in the delivery of Challenger 3, as well as other future programmes? We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation Engineer to join our busy Trials Engineering team. The successful candidate will initially work closely with the engineering Subject Matter Experts and the Trials Team to undertake trials planning, with the focus of defining & documenting instrumentation requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to gather data for performance and fault finding across a wide range of system development, qualification and reliability trials including: EMC, firing, sighting, human factors and mobility. Data monitoring will consist of vehicle data buses such as CAN and Ethernet; as well as discrete sensors for physical measurements e.g. temperature, strain, acceleration.
The role is based from our Telford site although the candidate should expect significant amounts of travel, to various locations around the UK and abroad; including both civilian and military test sites, as the CR3 programme progresses. The successful candidate must be adaptable, resourceful and have a confident approach to dynamic problem solving, this is essential to maintain the forward momentum of the trials operating schedule.
