Gemcorp Group are at an important stage in their development, expanding its fund management and commodity trading businesses in the Middle East and Africa. The finance team is in the process of transforming its internal processes and systems to best enable them to service the business as it expands. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Analyst to join our team at Gemcorp ICS allocated in London. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting business needs through data analysis while also playing a central role in meeting the team’s reporting needs. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail in crafting reports that provide actionable insights to various stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Reporting & Data Management
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy across all reporting tools and internal platforms relating to oil and gas prices and market analysis.
  • Report on freight market rates and freight movements across oil markets globally including arb movements.
  • Understand and report on Oil prices movements, cross market fundamentals and market structure.
  • Understand and report on possible price exposure and requirements to manage this.
  • Coordinate closely with team members to understand reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Data Analysis & Insights
    • Translate complex data into clear, concise narratives and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to interpret results and support data-driven decision-making.
    • Use of previous oil market experience and exposure to be an asset especially where West African markets are concerned.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Serve as a key point of contact for the team’s reporting needs and business insights.
    • Partner with other analysts, business units, and leadership to ensure alignment of reporting outputs with strategic goals.
    • Communicate findings clearly and confidently in meetings, presentations, and written formats.

    Qualifications, Experience and Skills

    • Diploma or equivalent in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in an analyst or reporting-focused role in the oil industry (trading house or oil company).
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools.
    • Experience in the oil market reporting tools and platforms.
    • Strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
    • A team player who can work with stakeholders in other functions to achieve objectives.
