At Gemba, we work at the intersection of sport, entertainment and culture, bringing strategy, data and analytics, insights and communications together to deliver results that matter.
Our name comes from the Japanese term gemba, meaning \”the real place\”, which reflects our commitment to uncovering the truth at the heart of fan behaviour. Since 2006, we’ve built our reputation by understanding audiences deeply, helping our clients cut through the noise of an increasingly complex and competitive landscape.
We are proud to partner with major brands, rights holders and organisations to shape the future of sport and entertainment, whether driving commercial growth, increasing participation or creating meaningful engagement.
If you are passionate about fans, culture and creating impact, you’ll find your place at Gemba.
About The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team – someone with the technical skills to tackle complex data challenges and the communication skills to influence decisions at the highest level.
In this role, you’ll take a lead in designing and delivering end-to-end analytics projects. You\’ll work across CRM, digital, social, and research datasets to unlock strategic insights that shape how brands connect with fans. As a trusted analytics partner to both internal teams and clients, you’ll be expected to bring curiosity, rigour, and a strong point of view to every engagement.
This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on autonomy, enjoys shaping deliverables, and wants to play a key role in developing Gemba’s analytics offering.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of data analyses to support fan segmentation, campaign measurement, and business intelligence
- Develop scalable, intuitive dashboards and visualisations using tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker
- Own and enhance data pipelines and processes, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across projects
- Contribute to the development of advanced models and analytical frameworks (e.g. clustering, forecasting, propensity scoring)
Client Consulting & Insight Delivery
- Act as the analytics lead on key client accounts, translating business questions into analytical approaches
- Deliver compelling insight reports and dashboards that inform high-level strategic decisions
- Present findings confidently in workshops, pitches, and executive sessions
- Provide consultative input into broader marketing and fan engagement strategies
Collaboration & Thought Leadership
- Collaborate with Strategy, Creative, and Tech teams to deliver integrated, insight-led solutions.
- Mentor junior analysts and help establish best practices in analytics delivery
- Contribute to the development of Gemba’s IP, tools, and thought leadership in fan-first analytics
- Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and methodologies, and introduce innovations to the team
About You
Experience & Background
- 4+ years in a data analyst, marketing analyst, BI analyst, or related role, ideally within an agency, consultancy, or high-growth environment
- Proven track record of delivering analysis that drives business impact
- Strong technical foundation in SQL, Excel, and data visualisation tools (PowerBI, Looker, Tableau)
- Experience with advanced analytics and ML techniques (segmentation, clustering, classification, propensity models)
- Tertiary qualifications in statistics, computer science, data science, economics, or a related field
- Experience working with CRM, digital marketing, and audience data is highly valued
- Exposure to cloud environments (e.g. GCP) and serverless workflows (e.g. Cloud Functions, BigQuery scripting)
- Passion for sport, entertainment, and how data can deepen fan connection
Skills & Tools
- Advanced data manipulation, storytelling, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate complex datasets into actionable, audience-friendly insights
- Strong verbal and written communication — you simplify complexity without oversimplifying
- Bonus: experience with Python, Git, GCP, PowerBI
Success Looks Like
- You lead analyses that influence major strategic decisions for clients
- Your dashboards and reports are a trusted source of truth for stakeholders
- You play a visible role in enhancing Gemba’s reputation in the market through smart, strategic analytics
