The Role:
Our client is a hugely successful global organisation with multiple manufacturing facilities and market leading products in its field. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Engineering/Maintenance Supervisor for one of their UK facilities.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, The Engineering Supervisor would be responsible for:
- Multiple project level activities in the areas of Plant/Machinery improvements.
- Day to day maintenance of the plant and equipment, both reactive and preventative in nature.
- Existing equipment modification and enhancement, including Project Documentation, testing and commissioning.
- Planning, organising, and directing the site maintenance team to develop methods for increased production and equipment uptime.
- Equipment allocation and purchase, and implementation of operational processes related to product development projects from conceptual designs/drawings through full release to production.
The incumbent will work with Product Engineering, Operations, Divisional Engineering teammates, and outside equipment manufacturers to ensure new/existing equipment development projects are successful and plant utilisation is maximised.
The Person:
- Time-served Electrical Biased Engineer, with at least 5 years post apprenticeship experience in maintenance and project work, coupled with previous supervision and/or project leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Educational qualification to a minimum of ONC (or equivalent).
- Good knowledge of, and commitment to health and safety.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to deal with multiple priorities at the same time, with a flexible and pro-active approach to workloads and duties.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with good PC literacy.
- Good inter-personal and team working skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience of engineering disciplines.
- Candidates with a Multi-skilled background with appropriate training and qualifications, any experience of high-speed machinery, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, along with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) would be highly desirable.
