With a strong order book and robust pipeline of business opportunities, the new owners have already committed to significant CAPEX investment into the North East operation. This represents an exciting opportunity to join a newly established UK operation at the start of a major investment programme that will transform the long-term prospects of both the site and the wider business.
As part of a ramp up across their Operations and Engineering functions, the successful candidate will become part of a progressive organisation committed to delivering complex projects for major international clients around the world. The business fosters a working environment where safety, teamwork and the continuous development of its people are central to everything it does.
The Role:
- To lead a multi-discipline workforce on shift to achieve agreed standards of performance in providing a high-quality maintenance service to the site.
- Determine priorities in conjunction with engineering and operations leadership to ensure plant availability for production and planned maintenance activities.
- Inspect plant and equipment to meet scheduled and statutory requirements and ensure faults are remedied.
- Oversee maintenance team members and contractors to ensure safe and efficient working practices.
- Diagnose and rectify major faults to sustain plant optimisation.
- Issue permits to work.
- Shift Engineers will be expected to navigate a full range of potential breakdown and repair scenarios including broad mechanical equipment, PLCs, AC & DC drives, hydraulics and pneumatics.
The Person:
- Candidates should ideally have completed a relevant mechanical or multi-skilled apprenticeship, with HNC qualifications as a minimum, albeit graduate Engineers who have progressed post degree into maintenance will also be considered.
- We are looking for mechanically biased, time served individuals, who have since progressed into a multi-skilled role, or a truly multi-skilled trained individual (50/50) from apprenticeship.
- This is a functionally responsible role, with previous shift leadership experience required.
