Our client is looking to welcome an ambitious person to join their growing Manufacturing & Warehouse team in Peterlee as a Lean Manufacturing Apprentice (Tape Edger). Duties will include:

  • Ensuring mattresses are produced to the correct specification
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Operating machinery and production line equipment
  • Performing quality checks and inspections to ensure finished goods are in line with quality policy
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment
  • Reporting any defects or issues to management
  • Meeting production targets and deadlines
  • Always maintaining a clean and tidy workspace
  • Complying with all company policies and procedures including ISO and making recommendations for continuous improvements
  • Any other reasonable tasks as required by the management team.

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Previous warehouse experience is not essential
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment tests including Drug & Alcohol
  • Flexibility in working hours during busy periods (Core hours are 9-5 but 8am starts are sometimes required)
  • Ability to work in an organised manner, cleaning as you go
  • Team work
