Our client is looking to welcome an ambitious person to join their growing Manufacturing & Warehouse team in Peterlee as a Lean Manufacturing Apprentice (Tape Edger). Duties will include:
- Ensuring mattresses are produced to the correct specification
- Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety regulations
- Operating machinery and production line equipment
- Performing quality checks and inspections to ensure finished goods are in line with quality policy
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment
- Reporting any defects or issues to management
- Meeting production targets and deadlines
- Always maintaining a clean and tidy workspace
- Complying with all company policies and procedures including ISO and making recommendations for continuous improvements
- Any other reasonable tasks as required by the management team.
Required knowledge, skills and experience:
- Previous warehouse experience is not essential
- Must be able to pass pre-employment tests including Drug & Alcohol
- Flexibility in working hours during busy periods (Core hours are 9-5 but 8am starts are sometimes required)
- Ability to work in an organised manner, cleaning as you go
- Team work
