GEM Partnership is representing an ambitious transport, logistics and warehouse solutions provider based in the North East who are recruiting for a hands-on Management Accountant, a role which can evolve into a Financial Controller mandate.
Our client is a well-established business delivering innovative, integrated and sustainable logistics solutions across warehousing, haulage and reworking. After significant investment and stellar growth their plan is continued expansion, across both existing and new markets and services.
The Role:
- Support the day-to-day financial operations of the business
- Manage a team of 2 initially which will grow as the business continues to scale
- Year-end control, corporation tax return, prepare reports, arrange audit and provide assistance
- Assist the MD with annual budget provision
- Produce monthly and weekly figures and maintain packs
- Control bank accounts, balancing and posting transactions, and manage and maintain company cash flow
- Manage PAYE, quarterly VAT returns and on time payments
- Process payroll accurately using Sage Payroll, ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation
- Process invoices, payments, expenses, and bank reconciliations
- Manage factoring facility and relationship
- Lead on Finance-related projects alongside typical day-to-day duties
The Person:
- Previous similar experience in a Management Account or similar role and ready to take the next step in your career
- Ideally from a logistics, distribution or warehousing background
- Proven experience with Sage Payroll and full working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, especially MS Excel
- Ability to manage confidential information professionally and discreetly
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
