GEM are working with a global organisation to recruit a number of fitters to carry out project-related tasks based on a client’s site located in the North East. We are keen to hear from candidates with experience within this sector, full training is provided.

Duties:

  • Dismantling and assembling machinery.
  • Loading, unloading, and relocating machines and materials.
  • Demolishing and scrapping machines and buildings.
  • Packing machines and materials for transport.
  • Reporting damages and malfunctions to the Project Manager.
  • Accounting for work carried out and completing the required documents/work orders, etc.
  • Ensuring the responsible and careful use, maintenance, and management of all equipment.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others by following safety regulations and using personal protective equipment.
  • Maintaining an efficient and tidy working environment.
  • Performing physical tasks in various positions.
  • Exerting force or lifting up to 23 kg, occasionally more.

Required/desired knowledge, skills or experience:

  • Relevant education obtained at a college.
  • Mechanical/Hand tool experience.
  • FLT – Counterbalance or Reach Telehandler.
  • IPAF Driving license.
  • CSCS card.
  • Rigging/Slinging.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Peterlee.
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8am till 4pm.
  • Rates of pay: Days – £13.50P/H to £15P/H.
