Job Description
We are currently working with a client based in Shildon who are experiencing exciting growth in their busy Manufacturing business, seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for managing and organising warehouse inventory, loading and unloading materials, and ensuring efficient operations within the warehouse.
Duties
•Unload materials from trucks and transport them to designated storage areas, and book into stock
• Book transportation with recognised haulier through online portals
• Prepare materials for shipment by packing, labelling, and securing them properly
• Organise production materials into job packs, ensuring they are packaged and clearly identifiable and move to relevant production area ahead of when required with the aim of reducing production downtime.
• Manage stock transfers to and from partner sites.
• Ensure effective, safe, accurate, clearly identified packs, and timely stock management to include space allocation and dealing with non-conforming product.
• Work closely with Purchasing and Production Manager to carry out stock checks and improvement activities.
• Maintain 6S standard for all Logistic controlled areas.
• Adhere to all requirements of the company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
• Support environmental sustainability initiatives within the company.
Required knowledge, skills or experience
• Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages
• Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence
• Full UK driving licence
• Stock Control and Despatch
