We are looking for an experienced Engineer / Quality professional with an engineering degree and 5-10 years' experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running and play a key role across engineering, quality, production, and customer support.
The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of engineering, with exposure to both electrical and mechanical systems, and a willingness to develop knowledge across all areas of the business. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills are essential, with the ability to understand customer requirements and recommend practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Support engineering and manufacturing operations, ensuring products meet required quality standards and specifications.
- Provide engineering support to production and assist with resolving technical and quality issues.
- Conduct inspections, identify defects and non-conformances, and support corrective and preventative actions.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the company's ISO 9001 quality management system from an engineering and production perspective.
- Experience working with ISO 9001 is desirable; knowledge of higher-level standards such as AS9100 would be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD, with experience using AutoCAD.
- Work closely with sales and manufacturing teams to understand customer requirements and provide effective solutions.
- Use Orderwise to access customer history, product information and stock records; full training will be provided.
- Maintain accurate engineering and quality documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop a broad understanding of the company's products, processes, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Provide excellent customer service and assist with technical problem-solving.
- Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
- Attend approximately 1-2 exhibitions per year, some of which may be overseas.
Skills & Experience:
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- 5-10 years' experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Broad engineering knowledge covering mechanical and electrical systems.
- AutoCAD experience with 2D and 3D CAD knowledge.
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering and production team.
- Willingness to learn and develop across different areas of the business.
- Ability and willingness to travel when required.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am-12:30pm
