With continued growth and investment across our business, we are looking to appoint an ambitious and commercially focused Management Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or qualified ACCA/CIMA professional who wants to play a key role in supporting business performance, influencing decision-making, and developing their career within a dynamic and diverse organization.
As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for producing timely and accurate financial information to support operational and strategic decision-making. You will be a trusted member of the team, helping managers understand performance, identify opportunities and maintain strong financial control. This role offers exposure to a wide range of business activities and provides an excellent platform for career progression within a growing organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
- Present monthly results and commentary for subsidiary companies to senior management
- Process month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany recharges
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with company procedures
- Analyse financial performance and investigate variances against budgets and forecasts
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and business plans
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
- Produce departmental, contract and project performance reports
- Support the preparation of board reporting packs and management presentations
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
- Monitor working capital, cash flow and key business performance indicators
- Support operational managers to provide commercial insight and improve profitability
- Assist with VAT returns and other statutory submissions
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, systems and reporting
- Provide support and cover across the wider finance team as required
- ACCA or CIMA part-qualified, finalist or fully qualified
- Previous experience preparing management accounts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Commercial awareness and the ability to interpret financial information
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using financial systems
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement
- Experience within the construction industry
- Knowledge of CIS and construction accounting
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management experience
- Understanding of project costing, contract profitability
