Overview
Geldards LLP is a leading regional law firm with offices in Cardiff, Derby, Nottingham and London. We are recruiting for a paralegal to join our Injury Dispute Resolution team within our Cardiff office on a fixed-term basis of up to 12 months.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced solicitors, providing legal advice and guidance to commercial and private clients in an effective and cost-efficient manner. The role is to start within the team as soon as possible.

Duties
- Assisting senior lawyers with clinical negligence and personal injury claims in the High Court and County Court
- Applying for ATE insurance
- Arranging conferences with counsel
- Taking notes of client meetings and case conferences
- Completing Court forms
- Approaching expert witnesses and drafting letters of instruction
- Collating and reviewing medical records
- Client onboarding and general administration
- Demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience
- Complying with the Firm’s internal processes on time recording, billing, credit control and compliance
- Dealing courteously and promptly with colleagues in relation to instructions or queries
What you will need
- Experience of clinical negligence and/or personal injury claims is desirable
- A law degree or other relevant qualification which may include working in a legal role
- Ability to communicate confidently and sensitively with clients across all department levels
- Must be computer literate
- Ability to prioritise, meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as using own initiative
- The ability to project a professional image at all times
In Return
- 35 hour working week - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for fixed-term appointment, increasing to a maximum of 30 days with service)
