Geldards LLP is a leading regional law firm with offices in Cardiff, Derby, Nottingham and London. We are currently recruiting for a Legal Administrator to join our Family team in our Cardiff office. In this role you will be a key player in the Family team in Cardiff, primarily providing comprehensive administrative assistance to Partners and other fee earners in the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and sort any internal and external mail;
  • Maintenance of files, ensuring all paperwork is filed accurately and in a timely fashion;
  • Undertake formatting, scanning, printing, and copying of documents;
  • Preparing Court and other bundles as directed;
  • Dealing with monthly billing;
  • Opening /closing files and archiving original documents using case management system;
  • Requesting files and documents from storage;
  • Preparation of documents for signature;
  • Managing diaries and appointments;
  • Arranging meetings as requested including, equipment and catering;
  • Supporting with Dictalogic and pick up Dictalogic overflow at busy times;
  • Speaking and liaising with clients as necessary and providing information and support as needed;
  • Attending meetings and/or court hearings as requested to take detailed notes and assist the solicitor/counsel;
  • Supporting clients with completion of Forms E and other ancillary documents;
  • Completing court forms as necessary;
  • Uploading documents to the court portal as required;
  • To deal courteously and promptly with colleagues in relation to any instructions or queries arising;
  • To adhere to all policies and procedures and requirements of the firm;
  • Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade and post;
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by a Partner to ensure the smooth running of the team and firm.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Ability to communicate confidently with both clients and all department levels across the Firm.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Ability to prioritise, meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team as well as to use own initiative.
  • Project a professional image at all times.
