We are seeking a skilled and forward‑thinking Design Engineer to join our growing team in the water industry. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in 3D laser scanning and point cloud data who can translate real‑world site conditions into accurate, high‑quality engineering designs. You’ll play a key role in delivering innovative solutions across water and wastewater projects, working from survey through to detailed design while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed engineering designs for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Work with 3D laser scan data and point clouds to develop accurate models and layouts.
- Convert point cloud data into usable CAD/BIM models for design and construction.
- Conduct site assessments and integrate real‑world constraints into designs.
- Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and contractors.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
- Support project delivery from concept through to construction.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in the water or utilities sector.
- Strong experience with 3D laser scanning and point cloud processing.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or similar).
- Ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets from scan surveys.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
