Employment Type

Full-time gee is a premium hair extension brand trusted by iconic women around the world, including Anne Hathaway, Rebel Wilson and Eva Longoria.

We've recently won three major industry awards, including a Marie Claire Hair Award.

Our mission is to help women feel like the most confident version of themselves.

Every product we create and every piece of content we produce is designed to inspire that confidence.

We're a founder-led brand with ambitious plans for growth, and we're looking for a talented Social Content Creator & Video Editor to help us create exceptional content every day.

The Role

As our Social Content Creator & Video Editor, you'll specialise in creating and editing premium, social-first content for gee.

This is a hands-on creative role with a strong focus on short-form video and editing.

You'll regularly film i Phone content in-house, edit footage from content days and larger campaign shoots, and turn raw footage into polished Reels, Stories, carousels and paid-social assets.

You'll also contribute to content planning, developing ideas and helping plan what we need to capture across launches, campaigns and always-on social.

You'll have the opportunity to plan and run smaller in-house content days yourself, taking an idea from concept and shot list through to filming, editing and final delivery.

This isn't a Social Media Manager role. We're looking for someone who loves actually making the content.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation
  • Film elevated, social-first content predominantly on i Phone.
  • Create regular hair, product, lifestyle and behind-the-scenes content in-house.
  • Capture tutorials, transformations, product demonstrations, unboxings, trends and campaign content.
  • Plan and run smaller in-house content days from concept through to delivery.
  • Capture additional social and behind-the-scenes content during larger campaign shoots.
  • Video Editing
  • Edit short-form video from start to finish using Final Cut Pro.
  • Turn raw footage from content days and campaign shoots into polished, engaging social content.
  • Edit Reels, Stories, Tik Toks and paid-social creative.
  • Work confidently with pacing, transitions, music, sound design and storytelling.
  • Colour correct footage to create a consistent, premium finish.
  • Identify the strongest moments from raw footage and understand how to turn them into engaging social content.
  • Social & Creative
  • Contribute ideas to monthly content planning, product launches and campaigns.
  • Help develop concepts and shot lists ahead of shoots.
  • Understand the purpose of a campaign and translate its creative direction across different pieces of social content.
  • Keep content visually consistent with gee's brand identity and tone of voice.
  • Follow social and creative trends while understanding how to adapt them into something original for gee.
  • Create simple, considered graphics, carousels and Stories.
  • Carry out basic app retouching and colour correction of i Phone imagery.

About You

  • You're a content creator who is a video editor first.
  • You can take a folder of raw footage and confidently turn it into a finished piece of content without needing someone else to make every creative decision for you.
  • You have a strong eye for pacing, transitions, sound, colour and storytelling, and understand the difference between simply editing a video and making content feel like a brand.
  • You're naturally interested in beauty, fashion and social media and pay attention to what leading brands are doing creatively.
  • You notice the details: when the colour grade isn't quite right, when a cut could be tighter, when the music doesn't fit the brand, or when an image doesn't sit naturally alongside the rest of the feed.
  • Most importantly, you care about making beautiful content and want to create work you're genuinely proud of.
  • Minimum three years' experience creating and editing social content, ideally within beauty, hair, fashion or lifestyle.
  • Outstanding portfolio of short-form social content you've personally created and edited.
  • Advanced short-form video editing skills.
  • Confident filming premium social content on i Phone.
  • Strong understanding of pacing, transitions, music, sound and storytelling.
  • Good understanding of colour correction and creating visual consistency across content.
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, Tik Tok and social-first creative.
  • Ability to create simple social graphics using Canva or similar.
  • Basic iphone photography and app image-retouching skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong visual eye.
  • Ability to understand a creative brief and translate it into finished content.
  • Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple pieces of content at once.
  • What Makes gee Different

At gee, we're building something with real momentum, and everyone in the team plays an important role.

We're a small team that moves quickly, values initiative and cares deeply about quality.

You'll have genuine creative input and the opportunity to help shape how gee looks and feels across social.

You'll work across everything from spontaneous i Phone content to major product launches and campaign shoots, with the freedom to develop your own ideas and see them through from concept to final edit.

Exceptional performance is recognised and rewarded through a performance bonus linked to agreed content and engagement KPIs.

  • 28 days' holiday, including bank holidays.
  • Buy up to 5 additional days' holiday each year.
  • Performance bonus.
  • Exclusive staff discounts and early access to every new gee launch.
  • Creative ownership and autonomy.
  • Work directly with the Founder & Creative Director.
  • Company pension.
  • A Message from Hana, Creative Director

“Content has played a huge part in building gee into the brand it is today, and I'm looking for someone who genuinely loves creating it.

I'm looking for someone who genuinely cares about creating exceptional work.

Someone with high standards, strong creative judgement and an eye for detail.”

“You'll work closely with me, but I'll trust you to take ownership of your projects and consistently produce content that reflects the premium standard we're building at gee.

If you're passionate about creating beautiful photography, editing engaging social content and producing work you're genuinely proud of, I'd love to hear from you.”

£30,000 – £38,000 DOE, depending on your experience, portfolio and ability to independently plan, film and edit social-first content.
